"Becoming the mask"

Films: My Soul to Take (2010)

Alias: Abel Plenkov, Alex Dunkelman

Type: Natural

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: They say that the spirit of the serial killer never dies. The man might be dead, but the legacy lives on. Well...in this case, the spirit did indeed live on. Just not in the way anyone expected.

History: The quiet town of Riverton was once subject to a brutal massacre from Abel Plenkov, who was overtaken by his evil personality, becoming the Riverton Ripper. Upon being nearly killed, he swore to return and slaughter all seven children born on the day of his demise. Then he disappeared and no one found the body. More than a decade later, one of "the Riverton Seven", the Ripper's son no less, begins to notice that they are dropping like flies after they screw up a ritual to keep the Ripper at bay. The Ripper is back, having possessed one of the seven kids.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The spirit of the Ripper is revealed to be in Alex Dunkelman, our lead's best friend. Alex is put down, banishing the Ripper's spirit and allowing Alex to die as himself.

Powers/Abilities: Posession.

Weakness: Weak without a body and he can be banished forever.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-The spirit of a serial killer is not to be underestimated, and the fact that he was willing to possess minors adds to his cruelty. His look is no slouch either. Then again, he's also a bit of a loudmouth, so he doesn't have that going for him. And he was going to pin all the killings on a blind dead guy. What?

Trivia: -As marketing, a fake stabbing at a movie theater was conducted. It went about as well as you'd expect.

-This was director Wes Craven's return to writing/directing after his long absence since 1994's "Wes Craven's New Nightmare".
